Go read a holy book
Upanishadas Autobiogophy of a yogi <---works best IMO the 4 books of the new testement.
read any of these and it will trigger a phychological event in your mind where you see youre self as another person, then you start seeing it everywhere, until you realize your normally your just a person who never figured out life. and theirs a 99% chance your fathers the one dictating everything you do.

yes i realize this makes 0 sense but all you have to do is test it....it will work ;3 and youre parents are monsters for what they have done to us.

2021.09.26 15:04 ivantheguppy [MS] Isolation

[MS] It seemed like any other ordinary week night to Tom. The trees made soft rustling noises as the warm summer air blew through the thick branches and the crickets sang their song. An owl hooted in the distance. A single porch light dimly lit the back porch, softly illuminating the porch. He lit up a cigar and puffed on it. He peered through the tree line out towards the small lake that sat behind his two story house, the moonlight glimmering on the surface. He felt at peace on nights like this, and he appreciated the calm that came along with living away from a big city. He had a relatively easy going life now, and would usually spend most nights relaxing with a cigar on his back porch and enjoying vintage whiskey with his dog, Beetle.
Tom had moved from New York to a small town in Colorado about a year ago. He had traded the hectic pace of working on the stock market floor for a quiet life away from the bustle of a city that never seemed to sleep. He had done quite well for himself while in New York for almost 20 years, and was able to leave the daily grind of working long before many people were. He had sold his condo in the city for a fair sum of money and moved out to the rural city. Tom had never married and was childless, making it even easier to pick up and move.
He reached down to Beetle and scratched behind an ear. Beetle was a German shepherd he had gotten as a puppy a little over 6 years ago. He had been a loyal, trusting companion since. When he lived in the city, Beetle always seemed subdued and dejected. Now that Tom had moved, his dog seemed as happy and content as he was. Tom hadn't spent much time at home when he lived in the city as most of his time was taken up with his day job or other various business ventures. This left very little time to relax and just enjoy life. Now, he felt as if he had all the time in the world.
Beetle just lay there, ignoring the affection and staring out. He seemed fixated on something in the trees. John thought this odd and out of character for him as he loved getting attention.
"What is it boy? ", Tom asked his dog. The dog made no move to indicate he had registered Tom's question. Beetle was so still that Tom would've thought he was a stuffed animal if he hadn't known otherwise.
Tom followed the dogs gaze out to the forest. He didn't see anything in the trees. Beetle began letting out a very soft whimper and raised his hackles as he still lay motionless. Tom noticed that the crickets had stopped and everything was silent. Even the breeze had stopped. It was as if time itself had ceased. He hadn't noticed the stillness until now and wondered when everything had gone quiet. Tom surveyed the forest. Still nothing. He became uncomfortable suddenly and got goosebumps. A knot formed in his stomach. Seconds felt like an eternity as he scrutinized the trees, still seeing nothing. He began to grow exceedingly uncomfortable.
Tom's scan of the forest was interrupted when he heard what sounded like a good sized branch snap from a tree and fall to the ground with a thud. He glanced to his right where the sound had come from. Probably just some animal climbing a tree, he thought. The knot in his stomach grew tighter. He could hear his heart pounding in his ears.
"You alright boy? " Tom asked, his voice breaking the sudden silence. His dog was still for another few seconds before raising and padding towards Tom. It was almost as if the dog hadn't noticed Tom until now. Sound came back all at once at the same time as the crickets began again and the trees rustled with a breeze. His goosebumps disappeared and his heart slowed back to normal. He still had a knot in his stomach but not nearly uncomfortable as it was.
"Ok, I'm ready to go in. How about you boy? Getting a little to weird out here for me, " Tom said to his dog. Beetle began wagging his tail. His dog seemed back to his normal self again. Tom stood up to go inside as he put his cigar out. He grabbed the empty whiskey glass and headed towards the back door. As soon as he opened it, the dog darted past him into the house, seeming to be relieved to be going back inside.
As Tom cleared the threshold of the door, he looked back towards the trees, scanning them one last time. He still saw nothing, and turned to go inside. Just as he was turning to go back inside, he caught something out of the corner of his eye. It was in the direction that the branch had fallen from. He quickly turned his head back towards the tree line.
He didn't see anything at first, but as he studied the trees for a long moment, he thought he saw something. It didn't look like a tree though, it was too short. He stared at the spot and noticed whatever it was, was a very dark gray color. It was definitely not a tree as it seemed like it was getting closer, but at the same time seemed to be not moving at all.
"What the hell?, " Tom muttered to himself. As it grew closer, he saw that it was actually pretty short at about 5 feet tall. Tom's heart began to thunder in his chest and beads of sweat started to form on his forehead. The knot in his stomach grew tenfold, making him somewhat nauseous. The thing stopped about fifty feet from the edge of the forest and just stood there. Although he couldn't see it much better now, he noticed that it appeared to be shaped like a person, albeit a very short person. It was very oddly proportioned, too, it's head looking like it was too big for the spindly body.
Tom's anxiety exploded suddenly and felt almost as if he was going to collapse to his knees. He stared back at the thing, and although he couldn't completely discern it's features, he knew it was staring back. Time seemed to come to a halt again, and everything was quiet once more. The thing's gaze seemed to pierce his very being, making him feel like he was being drained of everything.
Something wet touched his leg and he jumped, almost dropping the glass. He drew his attention away from the trees and glanced down. He saw his dog, hackles raised again and letting out a soft growl.
"Really Beetle? ", Tom said, glancing back up towards the spot where the thing had been. It was gone. The normal nighttime sounds came back once again and the knot in his stomach disappeared. Beetle nudged him once again.
"I'm coming in, don't worry, " Tom said to his dog. As he followed his dog inside, he glanced back one last time towards the forest. Nothing. What the hell is going on, he thought to himself as turned and walked inside.
In the time that he had moved into the house, he'd never experienced anything like what had happened that night. It all just seemed off for some reason. He couldn't stop thinking about the nights occurrences as he got ready for bed.
As he lay in his bed, attempting sleep, he tried to convince himself that what he saw was just an animal, probably a bear, as they were common where he lived now. And as much as he tried to push the irrational thoughts out of his mind about the thing he'd seen, he knew, somewhere deep down inside him, that it was not an animal. He didn't know why he felt this way, but thinking about tonight's strangeness unnerved him greatly.
His last thought before he fell asleep was that of the thing he'd seen, and what it may have been. Little did Tom know that tonight wasn't going to be the last time odd things would happen to him. His life was about to be turned upside down.

2021.09.26 15:04 BitBytesCupcakes Adding files to existing folder without changing CID

Hi all, please excuse the noob question - I've got a smart contract pointing towards a folder CID on IPFS and I can't edit the baseURI of my smart contract (at least I don't think I can). I need to add files to the IPFS folder but if I do, it changes the CID. Is there any way I can add files to the existing folder whilst retaining the same CID?
I'm using IPFS desktop on Mac at the moment. I've already added some files and the CID has changed so have no idea what to do. Any help gratefully received.

2021.09.26 15:04 SeaworthyGoose How does one ramp up suspense in horror?

At this risk of sounding silly I’m having a bit of difficulty figuring out how to most effectively ramp up the suspense in my story. I feel like if I keep having the ghost appear and then disappear before leading the character to an essential clue of the story it will get boring/repetitive. Any tips or advice would be appreciated :)
